This one needs re-writing[edit]

This article is lifted from the introduction to a 19th century translation of the Commonotory. It wants serious re-writing. I'll do it, but I need to do some research first. (I'll have to see if the one on John Cassian is any better.) Jhobson1 23:45, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
