Birthplace?[edit]

Was he born in Chicago, IL or Minneapolis, MN???????????? This article appears to contradict itself. Was he born in Wayzata or Minneapolis? ColinKennedy 14:23, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Based on the IMDb and German Wikipedia, which both give Minneapolis as the place of Vaughn's birth, I'm going to delete Wayzata. GilliamJF 17:00, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We aren't people magazine, but there's certainly no use in ignoring the extensive media coverage related to Vaughn and Aniston, as it's obviously notable to Vaughn. As long as we clearly separate the facts from the rumors and say exactly who said what. It's also notable to the header, since it's been such a big part of the media coverage on Vaughn the past year - but I suppose the sentence in the header could be re-written. I was just about to post and thank you for the well-researched citations, so I may as well do it here!
I appreciate and accept your point about including the rumored relationship in the article, as long as citations, as you have, confirm the fact of the mainstream press rumoring. Haaving it in the intro, though, makes it redundant, and elevates a rumor to one of the most important and notable things about his life. It's also a statement that's likely to be outdated quickly, so what do you say we compromise and mention it once in the "Personal life" section. Actually he is now a Canadian citizen by law due to new Canadian citizenship laws that came into effect in April 2009. The designation 'Canadian American' now stands, as it is now entirely accurate.(75.69.241.91 (talk) 04:52, 16 July 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I was just coming here to say the same thing. Owen Wilson can be considered a comedian (I guess) because he has co-written several movies which were comedies, is this why Vaughn is also labelled a comedian? He did co-write The Break-Up I believe. James25402 (talk) 18:40, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Political Leanings[edit]

Vaughn has been very discreet and is not known for being overtly political, so if he donates to Republican candidates, it is not particularly noteworthy, and more a private matter. Donations don't necessarily make Vaughn a Republican.(75.69.241.91 (talk) 17:47, 17 July 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Death date in infobox[edit]

On September 11, 2010, two edits were made which stated that Vince Vaughn died on July 30, 2008, something which is obviously false. The edits are this one and this one. It stayed in there until yesterday, October 22, when I removed it. If it were to show up on the viewed version of the article, it probably would have been removed earlier. It probably didn't show up due to formatting and code discrepancies. I just thought that any interested party should be notified about that crooked edit and how long it stayed there. Happy editing. Just saw it myself -- I was about to revert, but it looks like it's already been fixed. Vince Vaughn isn't dead, from food poisoning, Jetski accident, or cliff-diving in New Zealand (which I believe has been attributed to Tom Hanks, among others). "male doula" redirects here?[edit]

I searched male doula and for absolutely no reason, was redirected to vince vaugn. There is absolutely no reason for this. He is not a doula. The word "doula" is not in the article once. Nor for a middle name. Need to watch for this, some editors make a habit of adding what they think is a full name for a perceived nickname and middle names from unreliable unstated sources. It took a bit of Google Fu: I Googled "Vince Vaughn" "full name" and, going on Google's big suggestion that it's "Vincent Anthony Vaughn," I Googled "Vince" "Anthony Vaughn" and unearthed CBS and TV Guide on the first page of results and Playboy on the third. And for that matter, I'm actually just going to paste my reply from my talk here since this is a better location for this discussion.
I don't have the context but I assume this is regarding Vince Vaughn's full name. Here's CBS News, TV Guide and Playboy all saying his full name is Vincent Anthony Vaughn. But it seems like you might be concerned about my behavior, and that's fair. I can explain myself. Unless a pending edit at a BLP is obviously harmless, it has to be either sourced or summarized or I revert it. Period. I know this is an unusually harsh standard but it's in accordance with policy and if the pending backlog is ever looking too long, you'll have a much easier time clearing it if you compel new and/or anonymous users to cite or explain their edits.
