The Cyrillic is, not for the first time, not very useful- if I want to e.g. search in a Russian library website (the major library site http://sigla.rsl.ru/) , i have to use "Лобанов, Василий Павлович", not the Cyrillic provided, which provides more but very, very different results about very different people.
