There are some false information regarding this community is published. No literatures and books saying that vanniyars were lower caste. They are cheftians. They are the people who are fighting for the kingdoms and mostly agriculture people Prince king320 (talk) 06:48, 14 March 2024 (UTC)

- Wrong, their women were prostitutes and men worked as slaves to Brahmins and Vellalars .In fact, there is a myth that they migrated to South with Brahmins and carried their slippers and umbrella for them. 103.195.249.59 (talk) 07:06, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
