Description[edit]

I have inserted a paragraph titled "Description", giving a few optical details on the 6,5 metre telescope. This information is based on the extremely poor "translation" of the University of Tokyo Atacama Observatory website. If there is anyone familiar with optics and telescopes AND able to read Japanese, feel free to further work out this article. And I would appreciate if you inform me of such updates, so that I can also update the Dutch article (nl:Atacama-observatorium van de Universiteit van Tokio).

English version of TAO's website due by end of March 2011[edit]

I wrote an article on the University of Tokyo Atacama Observatory for the Dutch Wikipedia, mainly based on this English article, plus (very) few information from their own website's "English" version (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://www.ioa.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp/TAO/), actually a Google "translation attempt" of their Japanese site. (Google doen't seem to know what "translating" means...)

Just for your information, I asked Tokyo University if they could provide a decent English website. Today I received an e-mail saying that they are working on it, and that it is expected to be available by the end of March 2011.
