16 peacekeeping operations[edit]

I've been reading about the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations and there is a nice map showing where all 16 current ones are and I thought it might be useful to show that and give a brief summary of each other them from the United Nations Peacekeeping area (eg. http://www.un.org/en/peacekeeping/missions/monusco/)

I apologise if this oversteps a line, I'm new to the whole process.

Lester B. Pearson[edit]

L.B. Pearson has been a Canadian diplomat, but he was Secretary of state for Foreign Affairs when he presented the idea of the Peacekeepers at the United Nations in 1956. Sopidex (talk) 20:23, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Should we merge this with the 'Peacekeeping' article?[edit]

It feels unnecessary and counterproductive to have an article specifically on UN Peacekeeping. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 18:25, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong oppose − peacekeeping can also be carried out by nations or other entities/groups. The UN is just the most effective and relevant one which doesn't mean it should be merged. Also the content would grow far too long by cramming everything over there. This page is just about the UN's activities and not peacekeeping measures, history and research etc in general. --Fixuture (talk) 13:49, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nepalese peacekeepers introducing cholera into Haiti[edit]

This should probably be mentioned in the article. AnonMoos (talk) 14:13, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

US Participation in Peacekeeping efforts[edit]

The section about the United States' participation is vague and feels too long to read. Especially the second paragraph. Beigeontan (talk) 06:37, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
