United Nations General Assembly decision[edit]

A decision is an alternative format to a resolution. The disctinction is unclear to me and this should be discussed in this article. In this context I offer the following quote by Alfred Webre on his radion show Exopolitics Radio on March 22, 2008 (time ca. 0:05:00):

In 1978 the United States, through bureaucratic subterfuge, had it transformed into a decision rather than a resolution so that it would be bureaucratically hidden and harder to find.

”

I can also add another quote from that same radio show from Michael Salla (time: 0:29:00):

“

That decision was implemented or was agreed to by the political committee of the United Nations, this was something that resulted from the efforts of Sir Eric Gairy who was the Prime Minister of Grenada, to get the United Nations to start taking the UFO issue seriously, and also the issue concerning extraterrestrial life, so he approved, or he submitted a resolution to the General Assembly, and eventually that [...] resolution was accepted as a decision as opposed to a resolution in 1978. Now, the difference is that a UN General Assembly resolution, typically substantive issues that are at the heart of those, whereas UN General Assembly decisions are more concerning just the bureaucratic process in terms of just the way in which the bureaucracy operates and they are generally non-substantive. And this, I believe, was the result of the US very cleverly trying to mitigate the passage of this resolution that Sir Eric Gairy had lobbied for.

Having made a couple of futile searches for the original documents of the above decision, it appears to me that Webre's assertion may have some merit (i.e. not on the actions of the US with regard to this specific decision, but on the added obfuscation this distinction makes). __meco (talk) 12:54, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I try since years to find this obscure Resolution [A/DEC/33/426] or maybe [A/33/426] from 1978 but the UN don't know anything about this and you find only transcripts via obscure alien-friends-websites. Anybody know a link to the originial? In the meantime it looks to my like ta hoax -- Hartmann Schedel II (talk) 13:46, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
