This is a new article, regarding the formation of the new nation by the second Continental Congress in 1775-1776. Rjensen (talk) 08:32, 10 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Questioning Quote[edit]

The article has "We mean not to dissolve that union which as so long and so happily subsisted between us, in which we sincerely which to see restored". I'm guessing that the bolded "which" should be "wish", but as it is sourced to a print reference (and I may be misreading the 18th century English), I hesitate to change it. Pinging @Rjensen who I believe introduced the quote and may be able to verify with the source. By the way, this is a really interesting and informative article; nice work, contributors! sharp eyes--it should be "wish": see https://www.u-s-history.com/pages/h1264.html Rjensen (talk) 03:23, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox[edit]

The infobox seems too large and overly complex, Rjensen can you take a look. Thanks. Randy Kryn (talk) 12:06, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. we can drop the language and religion sections--they are not useful (and claiming majroty religion = Protestant is very dubious. Most people were not affiliated with any religion. Most of the indigenous population in the mapped area was not part of the United Colonies Rjensen (talk) 14:49, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Seems correct. The same large infobox concern has occurred at Thirteen Colonies. Randy Kryn (talk) 15:40, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I can remove some redundant information and simplify some edits I have made recently. I did the same to Thirteen Colonies as well. Please let me know your thoughts. Tpwissaa (talk) 17:57, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
