Original singer[edit]

The article says the most popular version was recorded by Nat King in 1951. I assume this means that he wasn't the original singer. If this is indeed the case, if someone knows who sang it first, they should add it to the article.--Rockfang (talk) 18:42, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

CD in 1955?[edit]

The article stated there was a rendition without the orchestra released on CD in 1955. What is this? CD in 1955?

Unforgettable (song)Unforgettable (Irving Gordon song) – Per WP:INCOMPDAB. Further disambiguation is needed because there is another song with the same title, Unforgettable (Melon Kinenbi song). Kusunose 05:04, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Unfortunately, the proposed title seems less recognizable than the current one. This is almost certainly the song everyone thinks of when they hear the song title "Unforgettable" (Unforgettable (Nat King Cole song) would be recognizable as this song as well), but I wouldn't have known that this song was written by Irving Gordon. • Support rename per nom's rationale. Use Unforgettable (Nat King Cole song) per Dekimasu, as it is the one in the Grammy Hall of Fame. The nom's title should be created as a redirect. -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 05:52, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support rename, Irving Gordon possible, but better to Unforgettable (Nat King Cole song). In ictu oculi (talk) 12:48, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Basically support - I'm not an expert in Nat King, etc., so whatever better-disambiguated title you come up with works. Red Slash 03:06, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per comments above. —CookieMonster755 (talk) 20:22, 13 December 2014 (UTC)CookieMonster755[reply]
  • Support per nominator. No preference for disambiguating with Irving Gordon or Nat King Cole. –Chase (talk / contribs) 04:55, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I'm fine with Unforgettable (Nat King Cole song). --Kusunose 11:53, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. WP:PRIMARYTOPIC (this song is much more likely than the other to be sought as Unforgettable). No need to disambiguate further with anything. Having Unforgettable (song) redirect here is silly; having it redirect to the Unforgettable dab page is even sillier, not to mention both are unhelpful. Are we trying to improve this encyclopedia, or ruin it with silly titles? --В²C 22:57, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Clear PRIMARY per Grammy Hall of Fame induction, hatnote will continue to do fine. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 20:06, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • Also oppose "Nat King Cole song" disambig -- Grammy Hall of Fame also includes Dinah Washington's recording. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 20:15, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
