A similar vessel in CCG service[edit]

I am struck by how similar this vessel is to the CCGC Samuel Risley -- similar size, similar long low quarterdeck. The Samuel Risley however is an light icebreaker, and mounts a big crane for buoy tending.

Both vessels are crewed by about 20 personnel. Interestingly although the Samuel Risley was designed for the crew and officers to mess separately she had a jointly shared mess, with the former officer's wardroom converted into a gym equipped with exercise equipment for all the crew to use, when she was profiled on boatnerd.com a few years ago.
