Additions[edit]

I have added internal links to Wikipedia pages about each of the major industries represented by UNITE HERE - hotels, textiles, laundries and casino gaming.

I also added some information about the coordinated expiration of UNITE HERE collective bargaining agreements in a number of cities this year (2006). This was also reported on recently by Harold Meyerson in the Washington Post: "Taking on the Hotels"

Update 1/22/06- I also added a brief section on Yale University, with a link to the separate Wikipedia article on the Graduate Employees & Students Organization (GESO). GESO is affiliated with UNITE-HERE so I thought it would be appropriate. I also created a separate subheading for the "Hotel Bargaining" material I previously added yesterday.

12/25/06. Someone needs to add something about the Amalgamated Bank, which is owned by UNITE HERE.

12/27/06. Also, we need something about the Yale grad union and Culinary 226, 2 of the strongest parts of the union that produce a large number of the union's organizers.

5/22/07 It seems that this page has not been updated since 2006, at least in some sections. Someone with knowledge of the union's major activities in the last six months should update the relevent information.

Undid recent changes in an attempt to make the article relatively neutral again. Serimph 04:51, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

07/03/09. I updated who is currently president as of last month's convention. Raynor is no longer president. John Wilhelm is. 137.122.115.81 (talk) 20:47, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Useful citable source for anyone who wants to work on this[edit]

Reasonably evenhanded treatment of the UNITE HERE / Workers United split. Probably comes down a bit on the side of UNITE HERE, but it's not a hatchet job. - Jmabel | Talk 01:08, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've now drawn a couple of simple facts from this article. - Jmabel | Talk 16:12, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox[edit]

I took out historical data from the infobox. Infobox are for the most recent information, and should not reflect historic data. (For example, the Teamsters have been part of four different labor federations, as well as independent, but only the current affiliation is reflected in the infobox.) - Tim1965 (talk) 19:47, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Amalgamated Bank mix-up[edit]

Link to Amalgamated Bank of Chicago (and the article linked to) confuses this bank with Amalgamated Bank (http://www.amalgamatedbank.com)which is the bank owned by UNITE-HERE. --Sjsilverman (talk) 20:23, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to me there should be more discussion of the union's affiliation with the Communist and Socialist Workers Parties. Why isn't there?Ndriley97 (talk) 22:54, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
