There are number of people in Hist 146B editing this page. I am Khahuynh32 (talk) 20:49, 10 December 2014 (UTC).[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because it is being developed by students who are currently editing and revising their contributions. It should be shortened, and the POV language cut. But the Labor Center merits an entry by virtue of its role in the revival of the Los Angeles labor movement during the past 30 years. Toby Higbie (talk) 09:33, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Toby Higbie. I have removed the speedy deletion tag. It was inappropriate in my opinion. I have also voted to keep the article at the AFD discussion (it is irregular for their to be both CSD and AFD at the same time). I am sorry about the trouble you are having trying to develop your articles. This one will not be deleted, don't worry. There is quite a lot of good content on this page, but also take to heart the concerns that have been raised: some parts of the article sound more like what you would expect to find on the website of the organization itself rather than in an encyclopedia. I will be watching this page now. Feel free to ask me if you need help. Antrocent (♫♬) 10:26, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. My students are working on this page. I agree that sections are too close to the informational text of the organization, and agree that material should be rewritten or cut. Toby Higbie (talk) 00:59, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
