Why did this get an article?

Should we merge this? We really need to so restraint with article creation in this basin, anyone here all remember what happened in 2012 PTS and how some many articles are messes? Let it develop in the season section first, please. YE ^{Pacific Hurricane} 02:36, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

It was a strong typhoon affecting both Taiwan and mainland China. I thought there would be more deaths, since it seemed like it could've been bad (a la Typhoon Winnie (1997)), but thankfully it wasn't. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 04:31, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

Note on China impact

Just making a note here to advise people to please read sources thoroughly before adding information. There is an ongoing flood disaster in China unrelated to the typhoon so sources may become intertwined and details on Soulik may be misrepresented. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 17:12, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
