Do people really talk about "treaty bodies" as a type of entity? Possibly, but in my experience in this field, it's common to discuss the ten UN "human rights treaty bodies" as a set of institutions, and those are already covered elsewhere in Wikipedia, as a topic in the human rights article as well as in articles on individual human rights treaty bodies such as the Human Rights Committee. Indeed, of the seven footnotes in this article the first (which seems to refer to recent ILC work & might be interesting) has a broken link, and five of the other six point to discussions of *human rights treaty bodies* rather than "treaty bodies."

I would be persuaded otherwise if the author added citations to sources that supported his or her taxonomy, and the ILC work might be an example of such a source, but my initial reaction is that this page describes a category that may have been invented by the author and is rarely or never used in the real world, so the page should be deleted.

Hence, I suggest that others either add (or fix) citations to sources that support the view that others see "treaty bodies" (as opposed to "human rights treaty bodies") as a distinct category of things, or delete the page. Or change it to a page on "human rights treaty bodies."Sullidav (talk) 04:09, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There are UPOV and INCB listed in the page, that are not really related to human rights... In my understanding there are A LOT of treaty bodies for minor international agreements, like regional, bilateral, environmental monitoring, scientific cooperation agreements, etc... And in case it was missed:
The International Law Commission defines an "expert treaty body" as:

"a body consisting of experts serving in their personal capacity, which is established under a treaty and is not an organ of an international organization."
