Deletion[edit]

  • Some sort of page is needed here, as several other pages point to it, and training camps are important in some careers. Search showed that the phrase "training camp" occurs 2828 times in the English Wikipedia. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 11:27, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree and I removed the speedy. But the current article is rubbish. I'll do something about it.Manning (talk) 11:39, 26 November 2007 (UTC) (admin)[reply]

Common characteristics of all kinds of "training camps".[edit]

What do we know about "training camps" that applies to most or all versions of things using the name? They tend to be:

  1. Residential (participants literally live there for the duration of the camp.
  2. Rigorous and tightly scheduled.
  3. Staffed by instructors who are experts in the area through their own training or experience.
  4. Contain equipment or obstacle courses designed to improve physical abilities relating to the skills at issue.
  5. Used, in some instances, to not only train participants but to evaluate them, in order to weed out the least able.

Can we find sources to support these applications among multiple kinds of training camps? A gallery of images would also be useful here. bd2412 T 12:57, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

More Sections[edit]

I've added sections for MMA and team sports, but more are needed for military, and probably also individual sports (perhaps the Olympics), and medical training camps. Could possibly also add corporate training camps too. Mosonco (talk) 06:42, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
