GA Review[edit]

Nice job with this. My suggestions are below, please address them individually and I'll strike them as we go...

  • First of all, please look over the grammatical changes and tweaks I made in reviewing this film. I refer to some specifically below...

Under Plot:

  • I dropped the Synopsis subsection; since there are no other subsections, it wasn't necessary.
Works for me.--J.D. (talk) 02:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Using many of the other GA films as a precedent, I made some style changes to the plot synopsis, including adding the full name of the actor in the parenthesis references and wikilinking them, even though they are also linked later in the Cast section. Most of the other GAs do it this way and I think it looks better. Also, in addition to some grammatical changes, I changed references to "Javier" to "Rodriguez," since most of the other characters were (correctly) referred to by last name except for him. Please look over these changes and let me know if they work for you.
These all look great.--J.D. (talk) 02:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • On three occasions in this article, Del Toro's character is referred to as "Javier Rodriguez Rodriguez." It's been a while since I watched the movie, but I seem to remember him simply as "Javier Rodriguez." IMDb lists him this way, as do copies of the script I've found online. Are you sure he's really "Rodriguez Rodriguez"? If not, can you drop that second Rodriguez from the three mentions?
You are correct. I have changed them.--J.D. (talk) 02:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • This plot summary refers to the hitman character as Frankie Flowers, but the casting list refers to him as Francisco Flores. It should be one or the other, and I'm pretty sure the latter is correct. Could you change it?
Changed.--J.D. (talk) 02:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I added a bit more detail about the Flower/Ruiz assassination attempts because I wanted to mention the death of Castro in chronological order of the plot summary. Please look over what I wrote to see if it works for you, and also to make sure it's still accurate.
This works for me and looks accurate.--J.D. (talk) 02:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Do you think it's worth mentioning Arnie Metzger (Dennis Quaid) in here? If so, I think it should be mentioned 1) that he's the one who tells Helena about Ayala's true profession and 2) that Ayala has him killed at the end for his supposed betrayal. But on the other hand, I suppose it might be an unneeded detail, so I'll leave it up to your judgment whether it should be included.
My only concern is that it will add the word count of the Plot section and push it over the limit. So maybe I'll just leave it as is.--J.D. (talk) 02:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Under Cast and characters:

  • I bolded the actor names, which is just a style thing, again based on many of the film GAs. If you really hate it I won't be offended if you switch it back, but I think it looks better and is more consistent this way.
This looks good. I like it.--J.D. (talk) 02:50, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Under Development:

  • I added some wording to the second paragraph of this section to try to make it a bit clearer (in my opinion), but please check to make sure I'm still accurate.
Looks good.--J.D. (talk) 02:50, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Can you add a sentence explaining when, exactly, Fox was officially dropped from the movie? I'm guessing it's some time before or after USA Films offered the $46 million?
I clarified in the Pre-production section. It's not exactly stated in articles I've found so I figured out where it probably happened based on known chronology of when things started to happen, production-wise.--J.D. (talk) 02:50, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Under Casting:

  • Is there no information in any of these sources about how any of the actors besides Ford/Douglas were cast?
Not much. I did find some but it was pretty superficial and really seemed more trivial. The big story was the almost-casting of Ford and how Douglas stepped in when he dropped out.--J.D. (talk) 02:50, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Under Pre-production:

  • "The DEA and Customs pointed out inaccuracies in the script and gave them access, but..." Can you specify what, exactly, they gave access to?
Sure thing. They gave them access to the border checkpoints for the scene where Wakefield and his team visit. I've clarified this.--J.D. (talk) 02:50, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Under See also: * You list here Hyperlink cinema and describe it as the film style of using multiple inter-connecting story lines. If you are therefore saying Traffic is an example of such cinema, you should mention that somewhere in the body of the article, with a citation. If not, it shouldn't be under See Also.

  • Should Traffik be listed here? I'll leave that call to you.

A good article is:

  1. Well-written: Prose is good, MOS is good.
  2. Factually accurate and verifiable: Sources are good, no original research.
  3. Broad in its coverage: Addresses main aspects, no unneeded detail.
  4. Neutral: Yes.
  5. Stable: Yes.
  6. Illustrated, if possible, by images: Yes.
