COI tag (February 2024)[edit]

editor works for Toyota dealership Theroadislong (talk) 18:26, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Theroadislong, if you place this tag, you should promptly start a discussion on the article's talk page to explain what is non-neutral about the article. Please do so. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:16, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@ToBeFree mind shortening the protection on this one to a couple days? I was going to nominate one of these articles for deletion and if the outcome is to delete, move forward with others. S0091 (talk) 19:42, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi S0091, it's an hour of protection only; I wanted to get an overview and expected this to be resolvable relatively quickly. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:42, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@ToBeFree Lol...sorry, for some reason I thought I saw a date of March 11th. I'll still wait a bit to let things cool down. S0091 (talk) 19:45, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(S0091, before you question your sanity 🙂 That's the move protection date at Special:Diff/1210463834 – you did see that date, but it's not the one you had been looking for.) ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:55, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(And thanks for starting an AfD, that would be great. Notability concerns have been voiced and having a discussion with a definitive enforceable result would be great. I think even 12DionneJ will agree that such a discussion is needed, even if they disagree with a need for deletion.) ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:45, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank You 12DionneJ (talk) 20:34, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In addition, I would love an explanation of how my supposed conflict of interest would influence my articles on the subject. None of the material I have shared is objective. They are stated facts. None of the information I have provided is of an opinion or ranking. 12DionneJ (talk) 20:50, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just me speaking, you do have a COI but I would categorize it as COI-lite in this context. The bigger issue is that you do not understand the criteria for a WP:Stand-alone list, thus keep asserting lists do not have notability criteria. Well, they do. Period. And lists are deleted regularly at WP:AFD for not meeting the criteria. Thus, sources meeting WP:GNG are required: secondary, reliable, independent and in-depth about the topic. In this case the topic is the Toyota C Transmission, meaning we need reliable sources about the Toyota C Transmission that are not blogs, forums or the like and also do not emanate from Toyota as Toyota is a primary source (not secondary even if a third-party source republishes it) and not independent. All the other arguments about being WP:USEFUL or that these other lists/articles WP:EXIST are not not valid to keep an article/list and are routinely dismissed at WP:AFD. Thanks, already resolved at Talk:Toyota_G_Transmission, I think. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:37, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
