The result of the move request was: the move protection summary for the article indicates that Trunk (anatomy) was employed due to WP:MOSMED guidelines that prefer titles based on the terms used in Terminologia Anatomica, but there is clear consensus for a move here and there seems to be sufficient reason to justify moving the page to Torso based on WP:AT naming policy considerations. Trunk (anatomy)Torso – Article was moved from Torso to the current name in 2010, without discussion on the talk page or any other discussion that I could locate. I have a general sense that "torso" is more commonly used than "trunk", but nothing concrete to back that up. Good Ol’factory (talk) 22:09, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nom. The current name is ambiguous, as the trunks of elephants and other similar animals are not part of the torso, they are part of the head, and they are also anatomical subjects. Therefore "trunk" is a bad name for this subject. Indeed, to the general audience of Wikipedia, I would say that "trunk" as part of anatomy would preferentially and more commonly indicate that such as the manipulatory proboscis of an elephant. -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 06:10, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • Trunk (Latin truncus) is also an anatomical term referring to short major portions of nerves/blood vessels, e.g. brachiocephalic trunk. --Paul_012 (talk) 07:01, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Current title is ambiguous, even in spite of having a disambiguation handle. Torso is a less ambiguous and commonly-used alternative name for the topic. Arguably, outside of a scientific perspective, torso is the common term for this subject. SFB 18:27, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support current title is abiguous, 'torso' is less so.--Tom (LT) (talk) 20:35, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Prefer the natural disambiguation title, which is also more concise. Zzyzx11 (talk) 18:18, 30 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
