What's the difference between Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales since December 2014? The way the lede is worded it seems to imply they're the same. DA1 (talk) 13:48, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

They were the same...until 2014. That's when the Billboard 200 started factoring in streaming to their figures. This chart represents actual sales. The Billboard 200, through 2013, was also just sales. In 2014, the Billboard 200 changed to album equivalent units rather than sales. Sergecross73 msg me 13:54, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I had to look back and read again, it seems the vague use of "the chart" created confusion about what it was talking about. Pre-2015, what are the differences between the Billboard 200 and TAS charts? On a sidenote, I support the split. DA1 (talk) 00:16, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
