Times of India Celeb Profile is not reliable[edit]

@Isaccc:, The Times of India news articles are reputable but the "Celeb Profiles" are not reliable. See Ratna Pathak article history, where I myself put TOI Ratna Pathak source and changed her birthday from 1957 to 1963, as per the TOI source here, making her younger than Supriya Pathak, her younger sister in reality. The TOI source was obviously found to be wrong. So I changed it back, to year 1957 here, this time supported by more reliable news articles from The Hindu and Indian express this and this respectively. Secondly, me and Cyphoidbomb had a discussion regarding this on Talk:Udita Goswami#Full DoB too, in which we came to a conclusion that these types of profiles are "hastily thrown together", so not reliable. It is after Doug Weller raised suspicion on Udita Goswami's TOI profile. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:01, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Life[edit]

Tiger shroff has rumoured to be dating his Baaghi 2 co-star Disha patani since 2015. Although both of them never admitted their relationship officially, but frequent outings of the couple says otherwise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by I snehasish (talkcontribs) 20:33, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

We do not write rumors. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:48, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh really!! What a joke!! I snehasish (talk) 14:53, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it's a real shame that people who are doing legitimate research about notable subjects aren't inundated with meaningless superficial speculation about a subject's private life. What a loss for academia. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:26, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:20, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

But in Sushant Singh Rajput's WikiPage it is written about Kriti Sanon. But...those were just rumors...Right? SanonFan (talk) 12:27, 10 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@SanonFan: First of all, you're responding to a discussion from a year ago. But since you've reinvigorated the discussion for some reason, let me see if I've got this right: You seem to be suggesting that because you found rumour mill content in one article, similar rumours should be included in the Tiger Shroff article. Is that a correct summary of the meaning behind your comment? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:45, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You didn't get me .
I just want to say that you should remove each and every rumour.
Wether in the Tiger Shroff Article or the Sushant Singh Rajput Article. SanonFan (talk) 10:02, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SanonFan: I'd love to hear your brilliant proposal for how we could remove inappropriate gossip from every biography at Wikipedia. Please detail it below, because I'm sure your plan considers the 1.8 million biographies, the number of active and competent volunteers, and all of the myriad variables that, up until your plan, would make such a task virtually impossible.
Anyway, these are two different scenarios. The Rajput article talks specifically about the media's obsession with his private life, and then gave examples of these speculations. That's what we call "context", and that's significantly different than having Wikipedia titter about Shroff's alleged love life, which is what the OP apparently wants us to do: "Rumours say that Shroff is dating ___. They've never admitted it, but I think they aaaare!" See also Michael Jackson#1986–1987: Changing appearance, tabloids, and films. Rumours? Yes. But Jackson was also somewhat notable for the media's obsession with his private life and appearance. Context. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:45, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ancestry[edit]

Hi All. In the section about his early life, it is mentioned that Shroff has Turkish ancestry through his father's side. However, on Jackie Shroff's Wikipedia page (and indeed in the sources that I could find) it says that his grandmother is an Uyghur from Kazakhstan. While Uyghurs may be Turkic, they are certainly not Turkish. I would propose changing it to Kazakhstani Uyghur. John.k.newton (talk) 13:14, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@John.k.newton: The source in the jackie Shroff article says Turkish, somebody vandalized it. I was inactive for a few months, so didn't notice it. I'm correcting it. It should be "Turkish" as per source. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:28, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Fylindfotberserk: Thanks! John.k.newton (talk) 08:13, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@John.k.newton: Mention not. . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:26, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Heropanti 2 and Ganapath[edit]

@Rulebrakerz and SanonFan: According to the policy WP:FILMOGRAPHY, film names are only to be added when we can get a confirmation through reliable sources that 'principal photography' (filming) has begun. I don't see any accompanying source(s) here or here. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:16, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The community preference seems to agree with this, i.e. that we do not add announced projects, only projects that have begun filming. Otherwise, people would be getting credit for work they haven't done. See also WP:CRYSTAL. The community seems okay with prose being added in, say, a Career section to indicate what their next scheduled project is. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:50, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I understand. I am sorry for it. Will keep in mind about it in the future. Thanks, Regards SanonFan (talk) 10:25, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
