Also, the articles talks about "Deeply Embedded". I don't see the term explained in Wikipedia.

"I don't think we have upgraded the threadx version on VC4 in years. So I don't expect this to be any sort of issue. A LONG time ago we moved from, I think, Nucleus, to ThreadX, so its not impossible to move from one RTOS to another (the vcos abstraction layer was designed to help with that)."

"Well, we already have Minecraft, so [Microsoft] is not totally unknown. ThreadX is closed source. In fact, Broadcom bought the source code for ThreadX, not sure of the exact agreement, but somewhat more than a licence. So no issues will arise from this. Interesting that ThreadX was actually a new RTOS by the same guy who did Nucleus, who had sold that on to Mentor."

rtos.com[edit]

All links to rtos.com now redirect to azure.microsoft.com, and in most cases the original page has been removed instead of being moved over. . Please see Help:Using the Wayback Machine for instruction on fixing this.

Timeline:

27 March 2005:[1] Typical 2005 website, but they were definitely featuiring ThreadX.
05 March 2019:[2] The website is a lot more flashy, but they were still featuring ThreadX.
18 April 2019:[3] Same as before, but now they have a notice: "EXCITING NEWS! Express Logic Joins Microsoft!! Today, we are very excited to share that Express Logic has been acquired by Microsoft. Effective immediately, our ThreadX RTOS and supporting software technology, as well as our talented engineering staff join Microsoft."
29 May 2020:[4] Now there is a large "Azure RTOS is now available from Microsoft" popup.
03 November 2020:[5] And now the site is dead, redirecting to a Microsoft page.
