1994 World Cup "The Bronze Match"[edit]

" In the 1994 World Cup, the Sweden national football team branded the game as "the bronze match" "

This is rubbish. The match for third place in any tournament in any sport at any level where medals are distributed has ALWAYS been called "the bronze match" in Sweden. Please take it out as it is some none-true personal reflection. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.96.185.201 (talk) 13:55, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that that makes the statement untrue; if the third place match is always referred to as "The Bronze Match" then that would make the 1994 World Cup playoff qualify for the same name, right? JaeDyWolf ~ Baka-San (talk) 14:33, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The text, as it stands, makes anyone who doesn't know the truth think that the term _was coined_ on that occassion which is totally not so. The text says "branded the game as "the bronze match" ", which is a outright lie, the match was simply called the bronze game as always, there was no branding. And very especially, it is not something for Wikipedia to mention. What Wikipedia can do is write that Sweden and Croatia are examples of teams who took their respective bronze games seriously. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.96.185.201 (talk) 14:41, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

NCAA Consolation Game[edit]

It should probably be noted that the last NCAA basketball consolation game was in 1980. One was scheduled for the 1981 tournament, but there was the assassination attempt on Reagan the same day as the final two games, and the third place game was canceled. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.71.17.213 (talk) 16:44, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
