June 2022[edit]

I’ve reverted the recent changes [1] that added promotional hype and removed sourced criticism. - LuckyLouie (talk) 13:03, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There was no "hype" or "promo" included in my edits. Everything is factual. Before you jump the gun as you did, check the cities that I have as well. You even deleted the correct season and episode information I corrected. If you consider the mention of William Shatner being on Ancient Aliens promotional then you are an idiot. There was a The UnXplained + Ancient Aliens crossover and it's even posted on the Ancient Aliens wiki page too. LuaOle (talk) 20:45, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@LuaOle And the deletions? Also are you going to tell me you did no copy and paste from elsewhere? Doug Weller talk 21:08, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Quoted articles WITH cites. LuaOle (talk) 23:51, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@LuaOle Really? You wrote "The show is a one-hour, nonfiction series that explores the world’s most fascinating, strange, and inexplicable mysteries. Each episode features compelling contributions from scientists, historians, witnesses, and experiencers—each seeking to shed light on how the seemingly impossible can happen." When I look at the iTunes site[2] I see "The UnXplained explores the world’s most fascinating, strange and inexplicable mysteries. Hosted by Golden Globe & Emmy Award-winning actor William Shatner (Star Trek, Boston Legal) each episode will feature compelling contributions from scientists, historians, witnesses and experiencers—each seeking to shed light on how the seemingly impossible actually can happen. The UnXplained explores the world’s most fascinating, strange and inexplicable mysteries. Hosted by Golden Globe & Emmy Award-winning actor William Shatner (Star Trek, Boston Legal) each episode will feature compelling contributions from scientists, historians, witnesses and experiencers—each seeking to shed light on how the seemingly impossible actually can happen." You copied the bits in italics without quotes. I haven't wasted my time looking for more, but it wouldn't surprise me. @LuckyLouie thanks for your efforts here. Doug Weller talk 10:07, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
We're not objecting to your adding season and episode listing data, so drop the pretense. What makes you think the unabashedly promotional text from history.com and your removal of sourced criticism is WP:NPOV? Besides, the WP:LEAD is supposed to be a summary of what's in the article -- not a stand alone section introducing material that's not contained in the article body. - LuckyLouie (talk) 22:23, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Then why do the fixed and added seasons and episodes keep going missing? LuaOle (talk) 23:51, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ken Burns?[edit]

I think the producer associated with this program is Kevin Burns. He founded Prometheus Entertainment which is The UneXplained’s production company. I don’t think documentarian Ken Burns was involved. Tombotronic (talk) 05:13, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Should we list producers with no articles[edit]

And if we do, where do we stop? Star Trek:Strange New Worlds has about 50 I’d say. Doug Weller talk 20:48, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No, there isn't any reason to add every single producer credit, they can often run to dozens. - LuckyLouie (talk) 21:10, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would suggest that if there isn't an article for them then a reference (reliable) should be provided.
It could be a problem where there are multiple producers, especially for TV series. Knitsey (talk) 21:15, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is a LOT of producer credits [3]. - LuckyLouie (talk) 21:24, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I've changed my mind. No producers without articles. That's way too many to add. Knitsey (talk) 21:29, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Levanthal is mentioned in numerous articles linked in refs as the History Networ side person. O'Brien mentioned in the Tunball article and credited on every single episode as EP alongiafe Shatner. Egan owns Prometheus entetainment and has first card EP credit on eps since Burns passed.
Unless you think Burns is producing from the grave. There's a theory. Nodiggity59 (talk) 21:55, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Egan EP for Prometheus -- harder to find article, but shown as first card EP in closing credits on each episode streaming on History website. Now co-owner of Prometheus in Burns' wake.

Producing from the grave? That's a bit far-fetched. Or is that a dig at other editors? And no one is suggesting that they aren't producers or asking for evidence that they are. Doug Weller talk 07:22, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
According to imdb, the only EP's that are credited for all 73 episodes are Leventhal, O'Brien and Shatner. I could see limiting the infobox listing to these three. Plain text, no redlinks. That's more than reasonable, and may satisfy those who feel closely connected to the show. - LuckyLouie (talk) 13:12, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
