Prod[edit]

I have removed the PROD that was placed here by User:Abductive, who has only been actively editing here for a little over a month but has apparently gone on a bit of a {{prod}} binge. First of all, I will admit to having a COI here, as I am the sports editor, but I am also an editor of long standing here, and I know that general-circulation newspapers in the United States are generally considered to be notable by precedent, if not by outright policy, especially if they have been around for a while. By Abductive's reasoning, the NJN is not notable because there are no books or scholarly writings about it, but if that standrad were held, most non-daily newspapers would not qualify. Moreover, most other small newspapers in the metro Birmingham area also have articles here (yeah, I know, WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS), and I daresay they are no more or less notable. If Abductive wishes to pursue this, he should take it to AfD, where I predict the outcome will be to keep. -- Robert Carter, a/k/a - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 16:14, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I support Robert's reasoning and have no conflict of interest myself. --Dystopos (talk) 01:54, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
