"Lacks inline citations"[edit]

I guess this as good a time as any to get this mad off my chest. :D

I really hate inline citations. I hate them in books, and I hate them even more online. They get in the way with the flow, you ignore them and feel you're missing something, you go down to them and then take the next 3 minutes trying to find where you were in the article. At least on paper you can stick your finger in place to mark it, you're even denied this small consolation online. Addition of Yank Barry to Kingsmen line-up list[edit]

Yank Barry was not a member of the original Kingsmen, but he was a member of a group called the Kingsmen in 1968-1970 that was put on tour by the managers of the original Kingsmen because the original members could not tour at that time. His name has been added as an "honorary" Kingsmen member on the group's site at www.louielouie.net and so has been included in the list on the Wikipedia page. Just FYI, YB is not listed as an "honorary" member on www.louielouie.net. He is listed as an ordinary member. I don't believe he ever was meant to be listed as an "honorary" member. The site, at the time, seemed to want to acknowledge that they support Yank's Global Village Champions Foundation, therefore there was an * by his name. The * needed an explanation and it was placed under the "honorary" member section. That's just my guess. At any rate, this has been cleared up and he is no longer listed under "honorary" member. At the YB page, the situation and chain of events has been widely discussed and covered. I'm not posting here to argue that Yank Barry wrote Louie Louie or was an original member or anything that is not factual. The situation is understood. I'm only stating that the Kingsmen identify these events as part of their history and recognize Yank Barry as a former member of the group, not "honorary".--Dr Gonzo5269 (talk) 16:07, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Repeated deletion of Turley Richards from the Kingsmen line-up list[edit]

Turley Richards has been deleted twice now by Accurateinfo973 -- the same editor who added Yank Barry to the Kingsmen line-up list. I have reversed the edit both times because Turley Richards is listed as a Kingsmen member at the group's site at www.louielouie.net. No commentary was provided for the deletions. Surviving members?[edit]

Think it would probably be useful to list the "surviving members" of the Kingsmen during their "Louie Louie" lineup somewhere on this article. Yourlocallordandsavior (talk) 09:18, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like the Members section covers this. Looking at the start dates mans death dates, you can see that Bob Nordby is the only surviving member from the original 1959 line-up and Bob Gallucci from the 1963 line-up that recorded “Louie Louie”. Relbats (talk) 13:42, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
