Fair use rationale for Image:Fambook.jpg[edit]

Image:Fambook.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Suggestions for Expansion[edit]

Some general areas that are worth trying to expand upon: further controversies in other areas (where they exist), a plot summary, and more specific criticism of the book.

Additionally, this stub could use some cleanup. Some formatting to clear the lead from holding all of the stub's information might be beneficial. JE215 (talk) 16:21, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Intended Edits for the Article:

In the next few weeks, I am planning on making some changes to the article. First, I plan on adding a Plot Summary section, highlighting the book’s main characters, major themes, and narrative style. I hope this addition will address the current imbalance of the article, which predominantly discusses the book's controversy without adequately explaining its content. Next, I will expand upon the “Controversy” section to include a list of newer school districts that banned this book, and include reasoning to why they did so. Per Wikipedia’s recommendations for articles about books, I plan to include a discussion of how this book relates to other books written by Todd Parr. Please see my annotated bibliography in the bibliography sandbox on the Wikipedia dashboard.

I have made the changes I had outlined above to provide better clarity on what this book was about, as well as to address the imbalance that skewed heavily towards the controversy of the book. I also added followed wikipedia's recommendations for articles about books, and related this text with other books written by Todd Parr. Please note, I did not end up adding a Plot Summary section but rather a Content Summary section, since there was no distinct plot or main characters for the book. Please see my sandbox page User:Jilliangtown/Sandbox if you have any questions. Jilliangtown (talk) 08:35, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
