Hello, I am planning on reviewing this article for GA Status, over the next couple of days. Thank you for nominating the article for GA status. I hope I will learn some new information, and that my feedback is helpful.

If nominators or editors could refrain from updating the particular section that I am updating until it is complete, I would appreciate it to remove a edit conflict. Please address concerns in the section that has been completed above (If I've raised concerns up to references, feel free to comment on things like the lede.)

I generally provide an overview of things I read through the article on a first glance. Then do a thorough sweep of the article after the feedback is addressed. After this, I will present the pass/failure. I may use strikethrough tags when concerns are met. Even if something is obvious why my concern is met, please leave a message as courtesy.

Best of luck! you can also use the {{done}} tag to state when something is addressed. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs)

Please let me know after the review is done, if you were happy with the review! Obviously this is regarding the article's quality, however, I want to be happy and civil to all, so let me know if I have done a good job, regardless of the article's outcome.

Links[edit]

  • Sourcing looks reliable enough. I assume GameSpot is fine. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 23:08, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done GameSpot reviews are recognised reliable sources under WP:VG/S. There is a tendency to sometimes pass off GameSpot's press notifications or blank pages as sources, but that isn't the case here. VRXCES (talk) 00:26, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Prose[edit]

Lede[edit]

  • The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon is the second expansion pack for the 2002 video game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, developed by Bethesda Game Studios and released for Windows in 2003 and as part of the Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition for the Xbox in 2004. - this is a hell of a sentence, could we split it into two? Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 22:38, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
     Done VRXCES (talk) 00:27, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • The expansion adds a landmass to the game, Solstheim, a setting modelled on Norse mythology, and features a primary questline in which the player investigates the Bloodmoon Prophecy that foretells the return of the demigod Hircine, and a secondary questline helps the East Empire Company to establish a mining colony. - ditto. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 22:39, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
     Done VRXCES (talk) 00:29, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Bloodmoon provides the player with the opportunity to become a werewolf, a feature closely embedded in the expansion's main storyline and quests. - the word expansion here isn't required. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 22:44, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
     Done VRXCES (talk) 00:28, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

General[edit]

  • "dungeons, enemies and loot" - did Howard say this? Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 22:52, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done Project lead Ashley Cheng did in a Gaming Illustrated interview, but I've removed the quotation as it's not particularly important to highlight it was said. VRXCES (talk) 00:31, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Bloodmoon was announced by Bethesda Softworks on February 14, 2003,[13] with a gold master of the game finalised in May and released on June 3, 2003, in the United States and June 27 in Europe.[ - the lede mentions consoles and the like, but we don't here? Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 22:52, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done The expansion was only released standalone for PC, but then was compiled in the Game of the Year edition for Xbox. I've added a citation about the edition and its release date. VRXCES (talk) 00:46, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • . Steve Butts of IGN was "glad to return to the more-open ended adventuring available in Bloodmoon in contrast to the "cramped" setting of Tribunal.[ - seems to be missing a speech mark. Also see WP:QWQ for which speech marks to use. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 23:07, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done Agree, this feedback came up in the GA assessment for The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal and once you've done a review of the article I'm happy to do an edit to minimise quotations, especially in the review section. VRXCES (talk) 00:33, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, I meant that you hadn't completed the speech marks, I'm assuming this should read either Steve Butts of IGN was "glad to return to the more-open ended adventuring available in Bloodmoon" in contrast to the cramped setting of Tribunal or Steve Butts of IGN was "glad to return to the more-open ended adventuring available in Bloodmoon in contrast to the 'cramped' setting of Tribunal" Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:34, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • for "(opting) for the more freeform style of the original game rather than the heavily scripted linearity of Tribunal." - this is done a few times in the article. Starting with something not actually in the quotation. Just put that bit outside of the quotes. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 23:07, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done Agree it's a bit awkward. As above, I might mess around with quotations once you've had a full review of the article, as this is an item of feedback that's come up before. VRXCES (talk) 00:39, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
