This Italian-French production was likely shown theatrically in Europe, as the DVD version is letterbox (though only modestly widescreen). Though the copyright date is 1974, it did indeed appear on US television in 1975. Interestingly, the lettering font of the film's titles is the same as that of The Three Musketeers and The Four Musketeers which also co-starred Richard Chamberlain.
