Pruning charts back to 10[edit]

When this article was made a Featured List, it had 8 or 9 charts in its tables. Now it's got 12 and 13. (It's also non-conformant with WP:DISCOGSTYLE, which is currently not official, and WP:ACCESS which is; its references need reviewing; some sources are fan sites, Sharon Corr's own site, dead links, etc.; the titles, publishers, and works in the citations need checking for accuracy as at least some of the titles are made up; etc.).

The tables currently least 12 or 13 of the following charts. I'd like to prune these back to the limit of 10 recommended by the WikiProject Discographies at WP:DISCOGSTYLES. Especially as it's a FL, though, I'd like to see what others think. See my remarks in the list below for what I'd keep/delete.

  • IRL:   Obvious keep as home country despite being second-least-populous nation here
  • AUS:   6th-most populous country here; keep
  • AUT:   9th-most populous country here;
  • CAN:   5th-most populous country here; debatable as big country but fewer chartings than US.
  • CHE:  10th-most populous country here;
  • FRA:   3rd-most populous country here; keep
  • GER:  2nd-most populous country here; keep
  • NDL:   7th-most populous country here; correct to NLD and keep
  • NOR:  11th-most populous country here; not in all tables and small country: OUT
  • NZL:   Smallest country here; numerous chartings but smallish population: probably OUT
  • SWE:  8th-most populous country here;
  • UK:     4th-most populous country here and close to Ireland; keep
  • US:     Most populous country here; keep, despite fewer/lower chartings than most other countries

In order of population, then, with my likely nominees for removal in parentheses:

IRL, US, GER, FRA, UK, (CAN), AUS, NLD, SWE, AUT, CHE, (NOR), (NZL)

What do you think? Other comments, arguments, counter-proposals, etc, gratefully accepted. I'll do some tidying up of mark-up and refs in the meantime. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 04:45, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
