Territory[edit]

I'm familiar with the common garter snakes in the region, however, I've come across two Thamnophis sauritus in the last couple of weeks in Cook County IL., just South and West of Lake Michigan. According to source material I found, this snake is not common to the region. Both specimens were black with vibrant gold stripes. One was well over 18" while the other was under 12" and located about two miles apart. Comments? WriterWithNoName (talk) 16:27, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
