Baader[edit]

Presumably this song is about the Baader Meinhof gang ("Terror couple kill colonel / in his West German home" and so forth) - but I can't find a source to attest this. Can anyone shed any light on it? -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 18:10, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have no link handy, and I am on my way to bed, but I Googled it once, and learned it was inspired by a British newspaper headline: literally, "Terror Couple Kills Colonel". Search a bit about bauhous, and P. Murphy is quoted on it. It's about a later RAF attack in 79 or 80[edit]

The song is NOT about the RAF bombing of the US Air Force base in Frankfurt in 1972 that killed Bloomquist, but a later RAF attack. The lyrics goes "terror couple kills colonel in his west german home", NOT "...at the airforce base" or something.
The attack described in the song was an attack on a west german colonel in 79 or 80 by a man and a woman from the RAF. The woman rang the doorbell and told the wife opening that she had a package for her husband, and wanted him to sign. She called at him and when he came in the doorway, a man standing behind the "post woman" opened fire with a gun killing him. It was something like that. Can't remember 100% any longer.
However, I remember the event 'cause I saw it on the TV news with my parents when a was a young kid, and remembered my parents freaking out. Shouting sentences like 'What has the world become when descent, hard-working people are killed in their own houses by communist scum' and so forth.
