What is this supposed to mean: "Tang stumbled upon the property of PbS as an infrared detector, and realized the importance of this property from a visiting Soviet scientist."? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nicransby (talk • contribs) 11:19, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'd assume it's in reference to the various uses of galena/lead sulphide in making infrared photodetectors. Based on the time period and the Soviet association, I'd guess the importance was probably related to building IR seekers for use in missiles. 156.57.202.117 (talk) 23:25, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
