Tad Not at Father's Deathbed

After the announcement at Grover's Theatre, Tad was taken back to the White House by his tutor and bodyguard. He remained there the entire night, until he cried himself to sleep. Despite Mary Todd Lincoln's insistence that he be brought to the bedside, he never was there (Robert was, however). Tad remained at the White House the next morning; he was not present at Andrew Johnson's hotel when Johnson was sworn in as President.

This page has the wrong date of death

There must be a mistake in the date of his death - it was July 15, 1871 not 1951 like the pages says. Lincoln had 4 sons, and only one (the oldest) lived past his teen years. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.8.8.147 (talk) 01:07, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

Not a cleft lip

Cause of Death: Heart failure or TB?

The article is self-contradictory about the cause of death, the top says heart failure, the bottom says TB. Was it heart failure caused by TB? Can someone reconcile this? Oneliketadow (talk) 02:54, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

 Done In all the reliably-sourced commentary I was able to find, there are at least four asserted causes of death: tuberculosis, a pleuristic attack, pneumonia or congestive heart failure. Edward Lincoln, the brother who died when he was almost four died also died from some form of lung ailment, from what was called at the time "chronic consumption" or tuberculosis, but what modern author John Sotos, MD, theorizes could have actually been medullary thyroid cancer, with possible genetic connotations.
