Disputed history[edit]

The school started life in the early part of the twentieth century on Panfield Lane. While co-educational girls and boys were separated, with the school effectively split into two parts. Later with the introduction of the 1944 Education Act the school opened as a newly established secondary modern school and was a coeducational school. It was renamed the Margaret Tabor Secondary Modern School.

The preceding is incorrect. I attended this school for my secondary education 1950 to 1954. It was still girls one side boys the other. Looking at the school the boys section was on the left. Our pocket patches identified the school as Panfield Lane Secondary Modern.

I have just checked the records for the school at the Kew Records Office. The author/s of the part you dispute are correct: at least according to the official records. The refernce for the entry is Margaret Tabor Secondary Modern School (5674LEAES). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.7.178.87 (talk) 09:56, 22 May 2023 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2406:3400:214:98a0:bdf9:e6c:4970:4c38 (talkcontribs) 00:19, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I'll make some changes. Abductive (reasoning) 23:32, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rather depressing that the trustees wouldn't seem to have been vary interested in Margaret Tabor, after whom (NOT just her family) the school was named, partly at least for her lifetime commitment to women's education and suffrage as a maths graduate of Newnham. Let's hope its history teachers can put this right, if they are allowed toDelahays (talk) 02:55, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
