Second movement and Le pescatrici[edit]

Landon's Esterhazy Volume (II) mentions that "The Poco Adagio" is a kind of sophisticated siciliano, which Haydn had used so effectively in an aria from [his opera] Le pescatrici two years earlier." Does he mean that Haydn used a specific aria from that opera and make a movement out of it? That would be noteworthy. But, he could mean that the "siciliano" was something he had employed earlier which would be considerably less interesting in my opinion. DavidRF (talk) 17:58, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Symphonies in B (natural major, 18th century)[edit]

Besides this one and the Sinfonia H-dur of Georg Matthias Monn, actually, how many 18th-century B (not B-flat, sometimes contemporary references will leave the flat off and be confusing) major symphonies are there known to have been...? Very rare indeed. This list at List_of_symphonies_by_key#B_major is meant to be thorough. If you know of any, add them to the list. DavidRF (talk) 21:11, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
