Convenience Stores?[edit]

Is she related to the owners of the Boston area Tesdechi's convenicne store chain?

Associated acts[edit]

I see that someone added the Derek Trucks Band as an associated band for Susan. I understand the rationale, but does it make sense to add this band to her associated acts list, when she served as guest-vocalist on one song from one album, and has appeared as a guest vocalist on limited songs in some live shows? She has never been a member of Derek's band, and hasn't really been extensively involved in his band, except as a guest performer from time to time, and by virtue of being married to that band's titular lead. Personally, I think DTB should be removed as an associated act for Susan (it's not listed for Warren Haynes, Gregg Allman, Solomon Burke, Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, or any of the other musicians who have had guest appearances with the Derek Trucks Band in the studio or on stage). -Erik Harris 15:27, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Given how much more the bands have been performing together and touring together in recent years, and since the formation of Soul Stew Revival (which is basically the Derek Trucks Band with Susan and a couple of other people), my above comment from 2006 is no longer at all relevant. Then read about the merging of her band with Derek Trucks band as the Soul Stew Revival-- more and more frequently. As long as there are sources for the above musicians--both touring AND recording (thus no Stones), feel free to add them, too.
Yes, Susan and "those other musicians" (are her backing band for the past 4-5 years, including the noted Ron Holloway-- former member of Gil Scott Heron's band (and other notable performers) and Derek's brother, drummer Duane Trucks. Read Derek Trucks' article; in either the personal or "Soul Stew" section I know I put a good reference in about their unusual touring/family life. Influences - Doyle Bramhall or Doyle Bramhall II[edit]

"Her guitar playing is influenced by [...] Doyle Bramhall."

According to the article on Doyle Bramhall II, Doyle Bramhall was a drummer, not a guitarist. Was Susan influenced by Bramhall's songwriting, or by her contemporary Bramhall II's guitar playing? Editorializing & Lack of references[edit]

Do not change Susan's name.[edit]

Susan's name, so far as I can tell, (and I know a member of her band, I'll check..) is Susan Tedeschi, both personally and professionally. Either way, unless you can provide a reference that she's changing it all to "Tedeschi-Trucks", do not change her name in the info box, please.--leahtwosaints (talk) 13:47, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Although not an appropriate source of information (not citable as a publicly-available soruce), I've had her autograph her two most recent albums (in 2006 and Nov 2008) and on a ticket stub (Sept 2008). She signed "Susan Tedeschi Trucks" all three times (no hyphen), so it appears that she uses the Trucks name personally, and has since at least 2006. However, given that she still uses only her maiden name professionally, I agree that it shouldn't be changed in the article's infobox. Erik Harris (talk) 00:13, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
