The Surat City Police is responsible for law enforcement and public safety in Surat, India. The force is headed by a Commissioner. It is responsible for the protection and safety of surat residents.

Surat Police is divided into various branches such as "Crime Detective", "Anti-Corruption", "Intelligence", "Engineering", "Training", "Forensic Science", etc. Various training is given in the field of computer, communication, and forensic science to enable the police personnel in all these. And are taught using modern weapons.

The police operate from 28 regular police stations. In addition, the Mahila Police Station was established to deal specifically with women's offenses and issues. It functions under the Crime Branch and is headed by a police inspector.

Initiatives[edit]

Domestic help (Gharghati) online registration[edit]

In the online form for domestic help registration,[1] people employing domestic help are required to supply name, mobile number and temporary as well as permanent addresses of the owner and domestic help. Copies of their documents can be uploaded on the Surat City Police website.

Suraksha Setu[edit]

Setu program aims to provide a friendly face to Gujarat Police.[2]

Awareness about road safety & trafic rules[edit]

Various campaigns like iFollow are carried out by Surat Traffic Police and public awareness activities are carried out to follow the traffic rules.[3]

Cyber Safety[edit]

Surat Police is working towards making Surat Cyber Safe by launching a CyberDost campaign on cyber safety and prompt action against online cyber fraud.
