Stumbled upon this article this morning. The images on it are, uh, not appropriate. Not Wiki-savvy enough to pull them down and revise them myself, but there should presumably be pictures of happy elderly folks, if there are pictures at all, not mummies...

Physical health as you age[edit]

Physical activity delays and in some cases even prevents age related illnesses.[citation needed] Keeping up with physical health also contributes to cognitive health.[citation needed] A healthy body is often correlated with a healthy mind.[citation needed] Ageing and physical health may be interconnected and build off one another.[1] More and more connections between emotions and biological functions have been suggested, such as blood pressure, immune system, cortisol.[citation needed] A positive mood may lead to better body conditions than negative feelings.[2] The definition of physical health, generated by Machteld Huber, is a functional body condition which can adapt itself to a changing environment, and is able to protect itself while facing accidental stress.[3] Nedra referred that certain habits are related to healthy physical conditions, and those living habits are not depend on economics status. Moreover, these certain habits can be accumulated, and people who have more good living habits are healthier than those who have less, even if they are older. The healthy habits are sleeping 7-8 hours every day, eating regular meals every day, doing regular physical activities, avoiding over drinking and smoking.[4]Related with physical health, a healthy mind can contribute to healthy body. A good mental health can adapt itself while facing psychological pressure, and can recover from severe mental stress. Furthermore, people with good mental health often have positive outcomes while recovering from diseases.[5]
