Barometric pressure[edit]

The article says "Subsidence generally causes high barometric pressure". Is this correct or should it be "Subsidence generally raises barometric pressure" or "Subsidence generally causes higher barometric pressures"? 92.0.230.198 (talk) 10:04, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect syntax??[edit]

The following sentence in this article does not make sense.

'Subsiding air is cold and dry and rises atmospheric pressure forming a high-pressure or anticyclonic area '

Problem is 'and rises' whereas in previous sentence it says warm air rises. Does the author mean '.. and rising atmospheric pressure forms a high-pressure or anticyclonic area.' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.238.200.54 (talk) 10:45, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
