Wicked[edit]

Isaw this back on February 2nd with Julia Murney as Elphaba, and I was very satisfied. She is great, and Kendra Kassebaum is a great G(a)linda too. However, what really astounded me was Stephen's lyrics. They are amazing! Plus, Stephen can rhyme words that are pretty hard to rhyme. Especially, during Elphaba's second to last song, "No Good Deed, was nonsense words, but still, he came up with long, rhyming words.Meldshal42 00:15, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Meldshal42[reply]

Awards Table - Grammys?[edit]

The awards information listed in the table isn't quite right. For example, I looked up info on the Grammys website. Schwartz did not win a Grammy for Pippin--the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album says it was nominated (not till 1974) but did not win. (I haven't yet found a separate source that supports that.) Schwartz did win in 1971 for Godspell, but that's not listed in the table.

I don't know a lot about Schwartz other than what I've looked up, so I don't know if there are other errors in the table. I'm going to wait a little bit before fixing what I've become aware of so that someone else who knows more than I do might try to get it even more correct than I could based on my limited knowledge. Re Pippin: Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album confirms that it was nominated but did not win, although that's not mentioned at Pippin (musical). Re Godspell: strangely, that article doesn't mention any awards at all. I agree that the column "Result" for Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album should be changed to "1974" and "Nominated" for Pippin. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 14:12, 8 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

How Many Grammys for Godspell in 1972?[edit]

The text had said that Godspell won two Grammy awards. Based on having found one listed on the Grammy website, I changed the text to say one. Yet numerous books, including the one linked to below, say two. Thoughts?

I changed the quantity of Grammy awards for Godspell back to two. Apparently Schwartz won for being producer and also won for being writer. (There was one creative work, one category, but two roles for Schwartz.) Kekki1978 (talk) 05:11, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a source for that? As it stands, the article is confusing. The text says two grammys, without explaining that it's really the same grammy awarded for two bases; and the table lists only one grammy. TJRC (talk) 19:05, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Support per nomination and ShelfSkewed. The multi-award-winning songwriter is indeed primary over the remaining ten men listed upon the Stephen Schwartz disambiguation page, with only four among those other ten men (Stephen E. Schwartz, Stephen Schwartz (pathologist), Stephen Schwartz (diplomat) and Stephen S. Schwartz) actually known as "Stephen Schwartz". Since, among all eleven men, three are named "Steven", if consensus prefers the dab page moved Stephen Schwartz → Steven Schwartz, rather than Stephen Schwartz → Stephen Schwartz (disambiguation), I would also support such an alternative. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 21:17, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
