Stella Kyriakidou → Stella Kyriakides – Most of the article refers to Kyriakidou as Kyriakides. My interest comes from reading a Reuters article where she is referred to as Kyriakides and finding that this is not the surname she is listed under in Wikipedia. Now, it is possible with Greek surnames there is some relationship between '-kidou' and '-kides' that is not readily apparent to people unfamiliar, which is why I'm proposing the move rather than conducting it myself. Thanks for weighing in. User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:19, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Kyriakidou is the genitive of Kyriakides, I believe. In Greek, the genitive is used for forming both patronymic surnames and the surname of a woman from her husband's surname. (Haven't checked what's the WP:COMMONNAME here, just noting the grammatical origin.) 59.149.124.29 (talk) 23:35, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Support her surname is Kyriakidou in Greek, but apparently in English she uses Kyriakides (I get like 100x as many Google News hits on "Stella Kyriakides" as on "Stella Kyriakidou", and she also uses the former on her social media accounts). Per WP:USEENGLISH, given that there is an established usage in English-language reliable sources, English Wikipedia should follow that usage. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 08:40, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
