Hemp?[edit]

Why is hemp here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.148.115.127 (talkcontribs) 16:25, July 2, 2008 (UTC)

Because it contains compounds that have a negative effect on mental alertness, to say the least. Anyone who appreciates the mental benefits of cannabis use while simultaneously denying its downsides is simply lying to themselves about the effects of the substance they are using. No drug, natural or unnatural, is perfect, and this will always be the case for the simple reason that everything in life ends up being a trade-off of some type. Fish?[edit]

I would like to see more of an explanation of the supposed harm of fish. Last I checked, fish were excellent sources of fatty acids used in brain growth, and were pretty healthy as far as animal fat sources go. The primary downside to eating fish seems to be not the actual fish, but the fact that human beings have polluted the oceans horribly. Perhaps, for the sake of objectivity, this should be changed to "polluted fish" rather than just fish?

On the other hand, I understand that this article draws from a somewhat faith-based source, and I can't say I know a whole lot about yoga other than some really neat tricks involving voluntary control over supposedly involuntary muscles. Perhaps I will leave this change to someone more familiar with why "fish" is on the list in the first place. Zaphraud (talk) 18:27, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
