Is "emblems" the right word?[edit]

Emblems seem to mean more towards coat of arms (See Emblem & National emblem)

This page features animals and floras that are not on the said state's emblem.

Wouldn't symbol be a more suited word? (See National symbol) The Malay wikipedia writes it as 'lambang' which its meaning is more towards symbol.
