I expanded this article to add information regarding the area's history and character. Note that a previous writer referred to the area as "St.James-Assiniboine"; it was never referred to by this name but always by St.James-Assiniboia as a direct legacy of the Parish, later City, of St.James and the Municipality of Assiniboia. Most people today, even if they live in the portions of the area which were once Assiniboia, refer to the entire area as simply St.James. --207.161.34.79 19:45, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For a suburban area as big as it is, the size of the article surely doesn't do it justice. Over the next while (winter?) I will work to expand the article text. It should have mentions of things like the pedestrian bridge over to Assiniboine Park (at Overdale). It should have mention of the Silver Heights area with its many apartments and original IGA. It should have mention of Bruce Park, the Aviation Museum, Grants Mill, the Living Prairie Museum, Assiniboia Downs racetrack, that the St. James School Division is the second largest school division in the Winnipeg area. While there are separate articles on all of these, it should have better coverage in this one itself. There is absolutely no coverage of the history of Brooklands, which was a village between 1920 and 1967. Typing Brooklands, Manitoba just points back to this article. Anyone else who wants to expand this page is welcome to do so. Jimj wpg (talk) 22:55, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
