slang for pound?[edit]

Squid (Gathering of SF fans in a pub)[edit]

Squid is a gathering of SF (Science Fiction or Speculative Fiction) in a pub. It is not a convention, as it is a smaller, less formal format.

When one is telling friends what one is doing in the future, one says "I am going to squid" or "I will be squidding". Sailor nickname[edit]

IDK how it is in other countries, but in the U. S., Squid is also a term used to refer to Sailors in the U. S. Navy, often times meant as a derogatory term, although some of us Squids wear that title with pride. 32.212.102.239 (talk) 05:57, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
