As of 31st August 2022, the Sudanese refugee population remains the largest at 309,049 individuals (92.1%), followed by 19,452 refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo (5.8%), 4,690 individuals from Ethiopia (1.4%), 2,420 individuals from the Central African Republic (0.7%), and 1,340 individuals of other nationalities.

52% of the refugees are female. Women and children represent 81% of the total refugee population. Only 3% of refugees are aged 60 and above, 38% are between the ages of 18 – 59, and 59% are 0 – 17 years of age.

Most of the refugees are hosted in Upper Nile and the Unity States in South Sudan representing 90% of the total population.

Asylum Seekers

As of 31st August 2022 26% of the Asylum Seekers are female. Together with children, they represent 33% percent of the asylum seeker population.

The Eritrean Asylum Seekers population remains the largest at 2,404 individuals (56%), followed by Ethiopia (916 individuals or 21%), Burundi (871 individuals or 20%), Somalians (33 individuals or 1%), and 57 individuals from other nationalities.

86% of Asylum Seekers are between the ages of 18 – 59, 12% are between 0 – 17 years of age, and 2% are aged 60 and above.

The flag dispute.[edit]

According to nearly every source I could find, the Left Triangle is Dark Blue, not Light Blue. Lukt64 (talk) 17:49, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The media authority recently confirmed that the official color on the flag of South Sudan is ( sRGB #75c8da). I'd suggest starting an RfC for more input, as the media file File:Flag of South Sudan.svg has experienced infighting as well. –LaundryPizza03 (d c̄) 17:07, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

the "current version" color is meant to be equidistant between the two colors you put it between, i still have received no reply back from my email to the south sudanese embassy so i feel like using a fairly equal mix of both colors might be best, but i am genuinely requesting any kind of input from anybody on this NorthTension (talk) 04:02, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
