Overall: I like the "allergic to beer" hook better. Short and interesting Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 15:43, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • @BigDom and TenPoundHammer: hmm, she's allergic to wheat and barley; aren't there gluten free beers? theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/they) 22:45, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Theleekycauldron: As mentioned in the linked source, she isn't intolerant to gluten. It's the grains themselves she is allergic to, and these are found in the majority of gluten-free/low-gluten beers, which are generally brewed with barley malt as normal and then have the gluten removed (or at least reduced to <20 ppm). There are beers brewed with other grains (sorghum, millet, etc.) but these account for a tiny minority of the market and aren't generally commercially available. Personally I think it's fair to say that she's allergic to beer, but we could always just add "most beer" into the hook to be extra safe? BigDom (talk) 05:33, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
