Wikipedia notability[edit]

I have added a {{Notability}} to the article because Wikipedia:Notability (companies and organizations) generally requires that it be established that the organziation in question has received significant coverage in multiple reliable sources which are independent of the organization itself. An organization's official website is a primary source which might be helpful for verifying certain article content, but primary sources don't help establish Wikipedia notability. What is needed instead is to show that the SSC has received non-trivial coverage by others reporting on it or writing about it. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:55, 30 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As a Scottish legal body, now in its third century of existence, the S.S.S.C. is clearly not as notable as an episode of an American soap opera. NRPanikker (talk) 23:15, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Read the article College of Justice; the S.S.S.C. is an essential part of the Scottish legal system. All notability cannot be based on non-trivial coverage. How often are, for instance, Thaddeus Harlan Stanton or Major D'Aquin's Battalion of Free Men of Color mentioned in the tabloids? No one have, however, bothered to challenge these articles.Weatherford (talk) 23:58, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
