Why two articles[edit]

The problem is, as this article says, slide guitar means many different things to many different people. On the other hand, the term slide is relatively undisputed. Most people will perhaps grudgingly admit that a steel and a bottleneck are both types of slide, even if they want to restrict the use of the term slide guitar to bottleneck styles.

It may not be entirely logical, but it's not our job here to tell people what words should mean, just to document what they do mean.

In time, perhaps slide guitar will move to bottleneck guitar, but even if it does, slide guitar will possibly be best left as a redirect to bottleneck guitar, with a link here of course. Andrewa 00:36, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regardless of whether Slide guitar should stay there or not, this article contains little information that isn't in that one, so I don't see the point in this one - just merge this information into that one. I'm going to AfD it for this purpose. Hairy Dude 15:37, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
