Notability[edit]

This family made a very brief appearance on a weekly television program in the US. It should be deleted - it would be akin to giving every Extreme Makeover Family a special article of its own. I bet this is a vanity article in any case.

I agree. I feel the entire article needs deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.34.143.20 (talk) 16:30, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

With a bit of research this could become much more important. I strongly suspect (but cannot prove) that the story as told on the "Nanny 911" show is bogus. I think that the mother does not do all the work herself, but has help that the TV show didn't reveal. For one thing, they own business which assists disabled persons; am I to believe that nobody in that business helps them? For another, they mentioned o the show that it takes three vans to take the children anywhere, but there are only two adults and one of them is a paraplegic. If my suspicions are correct, this could be a great article about how editing makes "reality TV" difer from reality.

Any family which adopts so many children is deserving of note. However, the article seems lacking in very much substance.--maryanntherese 17:46, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. This article just needs improvement.--70.162.46.19 00:16, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. By WP:BIO, the main criterion for notability is that "the person has been the subject of published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent, and independent of the subject." No such source have been given for this article, except a short appearance in a TV show (which is claimed, no reference is given). Please add sources to the article. I am replacing the "importance" warning tag with "notability" for known. -- Sorted as part of the Notability Wikiproject. --B. Wolterding 17:03, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with B. Wolterding. They have a website and a few dozen kids. Why does that matter to some people? I have my own website, but that doesn't mean that I have my own wikipedia page. There is no real big knowledge of the family unless they came on here and edited it themselves. 69.61.221.25 (talk) 16:47, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Page?[edit]

This family is not notable, other than adopting many children and being on Nanny 911. Their website is gone, so updated information is not available anyways. I think that this page should be deleted.--72.201.218.164 (talk) 22:05, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have completed your AfD nomination. The discussion can now be found at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Silcock Family. Any comments pertaining to deletion should go there. Michaelzeng7 (talk) 22:50, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
